Volcan invested in renewable energy generation for its own supply and for third parties, as well as in its own electricity transmission system with the objective of lowering its cost structure, increasing the reliability of energy availability in its mining operations, and reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. At present, Volcan owns 13 hydroelectric plants near its mining operations.
