Volcan Introduces CEIM, Its New Immersive Mining Training Center

Volcan Compañía Minera officially presented the first phase of VOLCAN CEIM – Immersive Mining Training Center, an innovative training model based on immersive technologies and highly specialized simulators aimed at transforming technical training and operational safety in mining.

This initiative represents one of the company’s most significant advancements in innovation applied to the development of operational excellence and mining safety, incorporating immersive learning experiences through virtual reality, augmented reality, and haptic simulation, capable of recreating real operational scenarios in controlled and safe environments.

The launch of CEIM addresses the main challenges currently facing the mining industry, such as the growing gap in specialized technical talent, driven by the high demand for operators versus the limited supply in the market. “CEIM marks a turning point in how we train professionals and strengthen our safety culture, enabling learning in highly realistic scenarios without exposing our workforce to operational risks,” the company stated during the official presentation of the project.

The new Immersive Mining Training Center will progressively incorporate simulations focused on critical risks and key mining operations, including training in Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, Electrical Risk, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Hemorrhage Control, Fire Protection Systems Management, Jumbo Drill Operation, and Haul Truck Operation.

Through these experiences, participants can develop technical, behavioral, and decision-making skills under pressure, strengthening their ability to respond to real operational and emergency situations.

With the launch of CEIM, Volcan reaffirms its commitment to innovation, safety, and the sustainable development of mining operations, positioning itself at the forefront of technological transformation applied to industrial training in Peru.
