Volcan Compañía Minera has been recognized for the fifth consecutive year with the
Yanapay Award in the “Environmental Initiative in Mining” category, granted by the
Association for the Aid of Burned Children (Aniquem). This distinction reflects the
company’s sustained commitment to responsible environmental management and its
contribution to high-impact social initiatives.
Additionally, our Corporate Superintendent of Environmental Affairs, Miguel Enríquez,
received recognition in the “Social Transformation Ambassadors” category, highlighting
his leadership and contributions to initiatives that create meaningful value for society.
The Yanapay Award honors companies, institutions, and individuals for their social
responsibility and their support of the rehabilitation of child and adolescent burn
survivors. Within this framework, the “Environmental Initiative in Mining” category
underscores Volcan’s efforts in the proper management of unused materials, whose
valorization directly supports Aniquem’s comprehensive care programs.
In 2025, Volcan donated 741 tons of unused materials, representing a 70% increase
compared to the previous year. This contribution enabled the funding of 500 physical,
psychological, and occupational therapy sessions, benefiting children and adolescents
in their recovery and reintegration processes.
This achievement reaffirms Volcan’s commitment to sustainable development and its
contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting responsible
practices that generate shared value and strengthen relationships with communities.
