Volcan Compañía Minera was recognized by the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and
Mines (MINEM) for its contribution to advancing female participation in the mining
sector during the III Antawarmi Forum, “Female Leadership for Sustainable
Development in the Mining and Energy Sector,” held at the MINEM auditorium on
March 9.
The recognition was awarded to companies that have contributed to increasing female
participation in the sector to over 10% in the most recent period — a significant
milestone for the industry. In this context, Volcan stood out as one of the companies
actively driving this progress through initiatives focused on inclusion and the
development of female talent.
The Antawarmi Forum brought together leaders from across Peru’s mining and energy
sectors, providing a platform for dialogue and transformation, where participants
shared experiences, leadership perspectives, and visions aimed at building a more
sustainable, diverse, and inclusive mining industry.
During the event, the role of companies in creating opportunities for women in the
industry was highlighted, along with the importance of continuing to foster workplace
environments that support professional growth and long-term career development.
