Volcan Begins Construction of the New Youth Cultural Center in Huay-Huay

Construction has officially begun on a landmark project for the district of Huay-Huay:
the new Youth Cultural Center. The groundbreaking ceremony was led by the Huay-
Huay District Municipality, in partnership with Volcan Compañía Minera. The event was
supported by the Huay-Huay Community and attended by representatives from
ProInversión, Mitracon, and local authorities.
The investment project, “Improvement and Expansion of Cultural Services to Promote
Community Participation in Cultural Industries and the Arts at the Youth Cultural Center
of Huay-Huay District, Yauli Province, Junín Region,” is being implemented through
Peru’s Works for Taxes (Obras por Impuestos) mechanism, with Volcan acting as the
financing company. The initiative aims to promote cultural and artistic development for
the Huay-Huay community.
This project represents an investment of approximately PEN 6.8 million and is
expected to strengthen the cultural and artistic capabilities of more than 1,700
residents in the district.
During the ceremony, local authorities highlighted that the new facility will create
spaces for learning, engagement, and artistic expression for children, youth, and
adults, contributing to the district’s social and cultural development.
